A 77ª gala dos Globos de Ouro de Hollywood trouxe inovações e vencedores inesperados. A edição ficou marcada pela opção por comida vegan no jantar da cerimónia e pela presença de Ricky Gervais na apresentação da gala.
As apostas recaíam sobre The Irishman, Marriage Story e, claro, Joker. O vencedor na categoria de melhor filme acabou por ser 1917, resultado inesperado. A Netflix, que tanto investiu na produção de cinema este ano, não viu nenhuma das suas obras ser premiada.
